Hey everyone! We haven’t done one of these in a long time, so thought we should start them up again. We still want to get to know you because we care about you ūüėÄ

What are YOUR reading goals this year? Is there anything you’re looking forward to reading soon?¬†

ImageHey, Nerds!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving – at least all of us in the States. If you’re not from the US, I hope you had a wonderful day anyway! Today’s “Getting to Know You” question is:

How was your Thanksgiving? What was your favorite thing about the day? Favorite food? And for those of us who do not celebrate Thanksgiving, how was your day? Did you do anything fun? What are your family get Рtogethers like?

On a sidenote: I have a couple of friendly reminders for you!

  • You have 8 more days until you’re supposed to finish¬†The Handmaid’s Tale.¬†If you haven’t done so yet, I seriously suggest you head on over to the discussions page. Like Botato said earlier on, the more you discuss, the more the new year will be beneficial to you.¬†HUGE FORESHADOWING *WINKWINKHINTHINT*
  • You have until Sunday, November 25th to send in your book suggestions for the month of December.
  • Don’t forget to sign up for this year’s secret santa gift exchange! You never know, you might get a nerd this year!

As avid readers, we can take a lot. We can take the pain and heartache that comes with getting attached to a character and having their story end. We can also take the aggravation of having to wait for the next installment of a series. But each and every one of us has a breaking point when it comes to literature. I have written a whole post dedicated to one of my pet peeves: Thesaurus Abuse. So today I pose this question:

What is your reading pet peeve? What is something that ultimately causes you to feel like tossing the book across the room as soon as you encounter it?

Getting to know all about you.

Getting to like you,

Getting to hope you like me…errr us

Now that you’ve been subjected to my awful singing, I just wanted to say “bonjour, nerds!”. The other two nerds and I have decided to post “getting to know you” questions every now and then to bring us together as a community/book club. We (or more like Isis put it) ¬†don’t want to know you by just screenname. We want to know¬†you.

So as an attempt to get us to get to know each other more, we will be asking questions and answering questions. And we’d like you to send in your questions too (if you want your own post) to¬†three.nerdss@gmail.com.

Today’s question/discussion is submitted by yours truly:

Getting to know you question #1

We’ve all joined this book club because we love to read and discuss things and flail about things that only other book lovers understand. But there’s always that one (or more!) book(s) that you’ve encountered that never rubbed you the right way. So the question I pose today is “what is the one book or story that you regret reading?”. It could be for any reason. You could just hate the way it was written, or you could just hate a character. But why did you hate it?
