Now that you’ve been subjected to my awful singing, I just wanted to say “bonjour, nerds!”. The other two nerds and I have decided to post “getting to know you” questions every now and then to bring us together as a community/book club. We (or more like Isis put it)  don’t want to know you by just screenname. We want to know you.

So as an attempt to get us to get to know each other more, we will be asking questions and answering questions. And we’d like you to send in your questions too (if you want your own post) to three.nerdss@gmail.com.

Getting to know you question #1

We’ve all joined this book club because we love to read and discuss things and flail about things that only other book lovers understand. But there’s always that one (or more!) book(s) that you’ve encountered that never rubbed you the right way. So the question I pose today is “what is the one book or story that you regret reading?”. It could be for any reason. You could just hate the way it was written, or you could just hate a character. But why did you hate it?

Hey Nerds!

We’re aware that it’s only November, but we’d like to see if anyone would be interested in participating in a Secret Santa for December. Of course it wouldn’t be ridiculously expensive (we are recommending a $5 limit), and we’d be okay with home made gifts. And since this is basically a book blog, we recommend book/fandom related gifts. So vote in the poll and let us know your thoughts. If you’re not interested, it’d be fine. We just wanted to see if it was a fun thing that could bring us together as a community.

The poll will be open until December 5, 2012. So you have plenty of time to decide and vote!

In other news, the Three Nerds have new projects! We stated in our “About the Nerds”  section that each of us have been trying to get back into reading despite hectic (and not so hectic) schedules. So we’ve each created a new WordPress where we will keep book reviews and book related things that do not involve the club. Come visit us!

Happy Halloween!

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have made a group on Shelfari. For those of you who don’t know, Shelfari is like GoodReads except it is run by amazon. (I personally like it a lot better than GoodReads for various reasons, one of which is the pretty bookshelf you get). So for any one who has a shelfari, feel free to join the group here. I made a discussion post there about other books you may be reading this month. So have a look if you’re interested.
